Franz-Georg Ottmann
Franz-Georg Ottmann's heart has always been in horse breeding. He is continuing his family tradition on the farm in Saerbeck, Westphalia, which was documented back in the 14th century.
Horse breeding as a family tradition
His grandfather was already one of the most successful breeders of cold blood horses (draft horses) at the time and his father, Willi Ottmann, is also regarded as a horse expert par excellence, with many top international horses to his credit.
In addition to his successful participation in the Westphalian Young Breeders, Franz-Georg was also active in the saddle from the beginning. After graduating from high school and completing an agricultural apprenticeship, he graduated with a Master's degree in Agricultural Sciences in Osnabrück and Göttingen. He then took over his parents' business in 2016 and has already achieved outstanding breeding success with the European Show Jumping Vice Champion and Global Champions League winner, Zineday, and the Westphalian Champion Mare and Bundeschampioness, Baroness Bibi, NRW. For this, he was named Riding Horse Breeder of the Year 2023 by the Westphalian Studbook.
